MY ROOM IN COLOR

Since I spend so much time in my room I only thought it fitting that I would write a blog post about it. I also did this because I was super bored and wanted to try out editing fairy lights just in case I ever wanted to do a photoshoot with them... and I do. (So email me if interested!) It started off as the natural orange glow that the lights gave off, then I just went crazy with the editing... a little too crazy.

But it is okay! Here's a canvas that I bought from Marshalls, featuring one of my favorite quotes: BE IN LOVE WITH YOUR LIFE.

I'm constantly overthinking things and sometimes I let myself stress over stuff that really are only made up in my mind. I tend to take these thoughts and blame them on others or myself, and honestly this year I've learned to just step back and breathe. Life is not meant to be taken so seriously and once I've realized that I've been happier. It's good to appreciate everything in your life and just do you! Alright... cheesy talk over. This is a small portion of my book shelf

which also doubles as my bed header. Fun fact: the slanted box was an art project from calligraphy class last year, and is now being used a storage for all my tip money. Looking at this photo I am just now realizing that I never finished the "spinoff" of Harry Potter, and that I need to get on that right now. Next is my polaroid wall which was the first thing I put up after my room was painted mint green.

Mint green.

I'm not a fan of the color but my room has way too much stuff on the walls to fix any of it. Which you will see in the next couple photos. I was inspired by Brandon Woelfel to turn these photos all crazy colored, and it was a good way to explore Lightroom because I did not want to start taking photos for people without having a good background knowledge of the editor. I hope to grow with it as I try new shoots!

These first couple pictures are cool toned but as this post continues it'll get warmer, I promise.

ABOUT MY

room

to fill up space I decided I'd just give you more insight on my room:

ONE PART OF MY ROOM I DISLIKE: I've just learned to accept the mint green walls, I still dislike them though. Also, how messy it always is... why can't it just clean itself?

ONE PART OF MY ROOM I LOVE: My wall full of records and photos of friends. It also has a Buddha tapestry... photos below.

FAVORITE MEMORY IN MY ROOM: Kind of embarrassing but I usually turn my speaker on and blast music and then shut my door while the lights are off, it's like an indoor concert. LOL.

FAVORITE THING IN MY ROOM: by far my record player, so of course I took pics of it!

FAVORITE RECORD TO LISTEN TO IN MY ROOM:

I'll always love my "Born To Die" one by Lana, but recently I've been playing Vance Joy's "Dream Your Life Away" and it's super soothing and great to fall asleep to.

here are some photos of my record player and my favorite wall:

I JUST LOVE IT.

Falling asleep with only the ball-light-thingy illuminating the room is so nice, I'm telling you. Another favorite thing in my room that I didn't mention is my guitar, which is featured in some of the photos. It's not always in my room though, so I'm not sure if it counts. Sometimes when the night is right and I'm bored or uninspired I'll play a couple songs and it really is super relaxing and just a good time. Writing this blog is really making me appreciate my room a lot more. Sometimes it's good to look back and appreciate what you have (even if it's as simple as your room), because a lot of times we forget. Leading me back to how I started this post:

LOVE THE LIFE YOU LIVE.

I hope this blogpost inspired someone, if only one person out there!I think I'll end it here with a couple more photos and call it a night... If you read this far, thank you, I love you, and I hope you come back :)

Lots of love,

Ari♥
